Flowerhouse designs are modern and playful, embracing asymmetry and nature’s uniqueness. Seasonality and sustainability are at the heart of our designs, so all of our flowers come from local growers, including some that owner Lauren grows themself in their small Seattle garden.

We love getting to know our clients’ personalities and unique styles to incorporate them into our designs.

Design & ethos

Flowerhouse donates a percentage of earnings to non-profit organizations that support the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

We also care about the future of our planet. In addition to supporting local flower farmers, we use sustainable design techniques to minimize our environmental impact.

Community

Lauren Upton-Chance (they/them) is the founder and Creative Director of Flowerhouse. They learned to love flowers from a young age, watching and “helping” their mom arrange flowers from the farmers market or backyard. After years of exploring many creative mediums, flower arranging came back into their life when they got married and decided to DIY the florals. The experience taught them a lot, and they enjoyed it so much that they continued their flower education. Now, Lauren loves to help others have the florals of their dreams.

In addition to growing and designing flowers, Lauren’s interests include choral singing, cuddling with their kitties, throwing elaborate themed parties, volunteering in their community, and spending time with the dearest people in their life.
